About this Event
4-hour in-person training at Love Yoga Leeds
If you qualified during the pandemic chances are your training included limited — or no — experience with hands-on adjustments. Or maybe you trained in person but know deep down a refresher on how to assist in classes would be beneficial to your teaching. Even if you’ve been teaching for a while, it’s completely normal to feel unsure or out of practice when it comes to offering physical assists in class. This half-day training is designed to help you reconnect with the art of adjusting, build confidence, and refine your skills in a safe, supportive, and soulful space.
Over four hours, we’ll explore the why and how of physical adjustments — from consent and touch etiquette to practical techniques and real-time practice. You’ll work in pairs, receive feedback, and learn how to approach adjustments with clarity, presence, and care. Whether you plan to offer regular assists or simply want to deepen your understanding of bodies in space, this training will give you the tools you need to feel more confident in the room.
This is your chance to connect with other teachers in a safe and caring environment, so you can expand your network, ask questions openly, and feel seen and heard as a yoga teacher. We believe that learning doesn’t stop after you graduate — and that feeling supported by your teaching community is just as important as the techniques themselves.
Expect a welcoming environment, plenty of time to reflect, and the opportunity to reconnect — not just with the practice of touch, but with your teaching voice and inner confidence. We’ll open with a grounding flow, break for tea and snacks, and close with a moment of reflection or meditation to help integrate what you've learned.
This training is open to yoga teachers at any stage in their journey — especially those who trained around COVID or who want an in-person refresher to feel more at ease with hands-on support. You don’t have to adjust all the time to benefit. This is about presence, permission, and learning to hold space with both heart and skill.

Why adjustments matter
They offer embodied guidance that words sometimes can’t.
They help students feel seen, supported, and safe.
When done mindfully, adjustments can deepen awareness and enhance alignment.
Understanding hands-on techniques can also improve your verbal cueing.
Even if you don’t adjust often, knowing how and when to assist is part of being a skillful, responsive teacher.
They build trust — in your students and in yourself
