About this Event

The Assheton Bowmen Annual Novice Shoot 2024

A relaxed and friendly shoot designed to give novices and archery newcomers a taste of the archery tournament experience with as little pressure as possible.

This year our shoot will consist of a Western round and its shorter versions, the Western 50, Western 40, and Western 30.

While any archer may shoot any of these distances, each of the distances has archery classes associated with it and awards will only be given if the minimum distance for your age/group is shot.

The round choices and age/groups are as follows:

Western (Men/Women, U21 Men/Women, U18 Men/Women, U16 Men/Women)
4 dozen arrows at 60 yards then 4 dozen arrows at 50 yards

Western 50 (U18 Women, U16 Men/Women, U15 Men/Women)
4 dozen arrows at 50 yards then 4 dozen arrows at 40 yards

Western 40 (U16 Women, U15 Men/Women, U14 Men/Women)
4 dozen arrows at 40 yards then 4 dozen arrows at 30 yards

Western 30 (U14 Men/Women, U12 Men/Women)
4 dozen arrows at 30 yards then 4 dozen arrows at 20 yards


THINGS TO NOTE!

Archers may arrive at the venue from 9am.

Assembly will be at 9:50am and sighters will begin at 10:00am.

Breakfast muffins will be available on the day as well as coffee, tea, cakes and light refreshments throughout the day (cash only).

Lunch will not be available so please bring your own.
No camping is permitted at the site. Refunds are not available.

Disabled archers are asked to indicate their requirements on the entry form or contact the tournament organiser please specify if you will be using a chair on the shooting line.

Raffle will be held at the end of the shoot before awards ceremony.

To comply with the GNAS Protection of Children and vulnerable adults policy those who wish to take photographs at this event are to register with the tournament organiser on the day. Whilst every reasonable effort will be made to prevent unauthorised photography, filming etc. taking place, the tournament organiser cannot be held responsible for any breach of this policy.

Assheton Bowmen will not be responsible for any damage or loss of equipment during the tournament.

GNAS dress regulations apply.


When you enter competitions the following information may be collected and shared with tournament organisers, scoring systems and other competitors for example targetlists and results may be published: First Name, Surname, Gender, Bow style, Date of Birth / Age category, Email, Address, Phone number, Club (and ID), County (and ID), Region (and ID), Round (unless defined by age), Disabled (Y/N), Disability info.
