About this Event
This 8-hour Assertive Leadership and Supervision course is designed for public safety personnel currently holding formal and informal leadership roles within their agencies. Students learn the difference between assertive, aggressive, and passive leadership and which is best suited for successful outcomes. This course focuses on improving management skills and areas where being more assertive benefits everyone. Students learn to identify their current leadership style and better understand how communication, and self-awareness affect it. Throughout this course, students practice a communication style that empowers them with self-assurance and directness, allowing them to communicate more confidently and effectively. This course provides practical tools and proven techniques to assist students in exploring correct responses to different people, situations, and events. It also teaches leadership through sustained operational periods and the development of succession planning.
