About this Event

This event will begin with a screening of Making Waves: The Rise of Asian America (co-directed by Jon Osaki and Josh Chuck), a new documentary on the SF Bay Area activists’ role in the birthing and renewal of Ethnic Studies—from the Third World Liberation Front in 1968-69 to AAPI Youth Rising in 2021. The film showing will be followed by a panel discussion with Joemy Ito-Gates, Jon Osaki, Donald Tamaki, and Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales on the political frontlines and fault lines of Ethnic Studies in California today.

The event will conclude with a reception.
