Ashford Loop · 06 June 2026
Meet 08:20 · London Bridge Station
If you’re up for a longer day out, we’re heading to Kent for a 60‑mile ride with a medium/hard rating due to the distance. This one isn’t suitable for beginners, as there are no bailout points, so good stamina is essential.
We’ll meet on the lower concourse at London Bridge (near Body Shop) at 08:20, aiming for the 08:43 train to Ashford International (arr. 09:55). For Bromley riders: 08:23 Bromley South → 08:55 Sevenoaks, connecting with our train at 09:07.
The route is a circular, mostly flat 60 miles, taking us across the wide, open landscapes of the Romney Marsh and on to Dungeness, where the lunch stop will be at The Pilot Inn (TN29 9NJ · menu at thepilotdungeness.co.uk).
This ride passes through some of the most distinctive scenery in the South East — where the Garden of England meets the sea. Cycling across the Marsh towards Dungeness which itself is a unique British landscape: Europe’s largest shingle beach and home to Prospect Cottage, the lighthouse, and the miniature railway. After lunch we’ll head north along the coast before turning inland and looping back to Ashford for the journey home.
Bring the essentials: spare inner tubes, snacks, weather‑appropriate clothing, and ensure your bike is well‑prepared. Even with longer evenings, please bring lights in case of any delays.
If you’ve not ridden with us before, please read our general ride information: http://lewishamcyclists.co.uk/general-ride-information/
