Begin the Lenten journey with us on Wednesday, February 18 at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary.Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent, the 40-day season of reflection and preparation leading to Easter. This contemplative service includes the imposition of ashes with the ancient words "Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return," scripture from John 10 about the Good Shepherd who seeks lost sheep, and a message titled "The Shepherd Who Seeks."
Ash Wednesday confronts us with our human frailty—we are dust, unable to save ourselves. Yet it also reveals God's response: a shepherd who knows us by name, pursues us when we wander, and willingly lays down his life so we might live. The ashes remind us we are mortal; the shepherd's voice reminds us we are beloved.
All are welcome—whether you're a regular worshiper or attending church primarily during holy seasons. Come as you are. The service lasts approximately one hour.
This service begins our Lenten series "Witnesses: Encountering Jesus When It Matters Most."
