Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day season of Lent, a time when Christians reflect upon and prepare for the death and resurrection of Jesus. Lent is a period of time defined by its emphasis on waiting and preparation, on prayer and reflection, on suffering and self-denial.Join us at UCC on Wednesday, March 5th, for a self-guided prayer journey intended to help you step into a posture of deeper reflection with God. Move at your own pace around six prayer stations, including a final station to receive the mark of ash upon the forehead. Stay as long or as little as you like.
You may also come and simply receive ashes—a reminder that from dust we come and to dust we shall return.
