About this Event
Join author Matt Harry as he discusses his new science fiction novel, Ash Land, with Liz Kerin!
No one knows how to destroy the Ash. Two years ago, the flesh-eating microbots escaped from a lab in France and quickly spread across the globe. Twenty percent of humanity was killed in under a month. The people who managed to seal themselves inside survived, but now they're only able to access the outside world through remote-controlled drones or hazmat suits. Detective Kai Braddock is one of those survivors. He used to be a cop, but the machine plague and a bitter divorce led to him quitting the department. But when his partner is murdered, Braddock realizes he'll have to do what almost no one has done in over twenty-six months: He'll have to go outside.
Matt Harry is the author of six novels, including SORCERY FOR BEGINNERS, which was optioned for television by Boatrocker Media (Palm Royale), and the choose-your-own-adventure novel YOU ARE A FILMMAKER. He has edited over 25 books, created two immersive plays, and taught hundreds of students as a college professor. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons, all of whom (thankfully) like to read. ASH LAND is his first novel for adults.
Liz Kerin is the author of the NIGHT’S EDGE duology (Tor Nightfire, 2023-2024) and dark fantasy adventure THE PHANTOM FOREST (2019). Most recently, Liz signed a two book deal with Sourcebooks for her forthcoming horror novel HOW TO DISAPPEAR COMPLETELY and a second title TBA. In addition to her work in literary fiction, Liz is also a screenwriter and award-winning playwright. She is a graduate of the Department of Dramatic Writing at NYU Tisch and has numerous film/TV projects in active development, including adaptations of her own novels. She lives in Southern California where you can find her working in her garden or hiking in the hills with her Corgi, Clementine.
