Effective use of jointing in concrete slabs for long-term performance of floors & slabs- BoMetals
About this Event

TOPIC:

The effective use of jointing in concrete slabs is an important tool in achieving high long-term performance in floors, slabs, and other elements. BoMetals products fall into five primary categories: Waterstops, Keyways, Dowel Systems, Forms, and Masonry Accessories with the vast majority of those products designed for use in joints. In this presentation we will focus on cracking and jointing in concrete, including joint types and spacing, and related products. We will touch, briefly, on various Waterstop products and do a deeper dive into the use of keyways and dowel systems (smooth round dowels and plate dowels) for load transfer across joints. We will also take a look at options for reinforcing the edges of concrete joints offering additional protection for the joint edges as well as for vehicle wheels, particularly hard-wheeled forklifts, interacting with the joint. There is also a short introduction to a brand-new stay-in-place formwork product for a wide range of uses, particularly below grade applications and duct banks.
