Program: The recent transition to Type 1L cement and other updates to Hawaii’s concrete industry.

Speaker: Darren Orr, General Manager for the Cement Division at Hawaiian Cement

Abstract:

After careful consideration and input form the industry, Hawaiian Cement has selected a new cement supplier and transitioned to Type 1L cement. This presentation will discuss the transition to Type 1L cement, the differences between Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Portland-Limestone Cement (PLC), the current local concrete industry, and where the industry is headed.
