Brief summary: Two pairs of feuding brothers set the story in motion. Rosalind, banished by her uncle, disguises herself as a man and escapes to the Forest of Arden with her cousin Celia. Orlando flees his own brother's murderous schemes and ends up there too. In the forest, identities shift, romance blooms in unexpected ways, and everyone finds their way home.

About us: Courtyard Shakespeare was founded in 2018 by Dan C. Schmidt, a Kansas high school drama teacher who wanted young artists to work alongside seasoned professionals. After Dan's passing, his former students and colleagues carried his vision forward. This June is our sixth production since then. We keep every show free on purpose; no ticket price, no barrier, anyone in Kansas City can come.
