About this Event
In a world where singing is banned and love is forbidden, the Forest of Arden provides a haven for outlaws to revel in a creative rebellion where love blossoms on every branch.
About the Show:
Duke Frederick has banished his brother, and along with him, banished all joy from the court. Under Frederick’s puritan regime, there is no singing, no art and certainly no falling in love. So, when Rosalind falls in love with a young wrestler, Orlando, she is banished from the court.
Disguised as a man, Rosalind flees to the Forest of Arden, along with her cousin Celia and the fool Touchstone. There they find a joyful rebellion of song, poetry and theatre. Rosalind’s father, with his band of outlaws, sing and revel in their wild woodland life, while shepherds roam with love always on their minds and Orlando fills the wood with poetry proclaiming his love for Rosalind.
