We are super excited to announce that we have a DOPE event coming up: *Así Se Goza!*Así Se Goza (or ASG, for the sake of my fingers) is going to be a daylong event focused on helping YOU to feel more connected--to the music, to your own body, and to your partner--when you go out social dancing. The event is going to bring together three AMAZING instructors--Clara Nieto Hernandez, Takechi Ruiz, Nilka Acosta--plus me and whatever the hell it is that I do, to give you the tools you want to up your social dancing game.
The day will be divided into sessions that focus on understanding music, solo movement, and most importantly partner connection. Each session will be taught by a different combination of the instructor team while the other two teachers are on the floor with students, giving personalized feedback and tips. We're planning to focus on the music you'll hear most often when you go social dancing at Cuban events: timba, son, and a little bit of rumba. For the sake of being able to give the kind of feedback that we all like to receive when we ourselves our learning, tickets are going to be limited.
But Ethan, you may be thinking, why does that weekend ring a bell in this hyperactive brain of mine? Because, dear friends, the day BEFORE, Saturday, October 4th, just so happens to be RUEDAY 2025.
In other words, if you manage to get yourself to New York that weekend, you are in for a treat--Rueday on Saturday, Oct. 4th followed immediately by Asi Se Goza on Sunday, Oct. 5th!
