Three great Ottawa organizations are coming together to present Artwalk 2024, an outdoor conversation and gallery crawl presented by the National Gallery of Canada, the Ottawa Art Gallery and the ByWard Market District Authority.

Artwalk kicks off at the National Gallery of Canada on the steps of the outdoor amphitheatre, beside artist Louise Bourgeois’ giant bronze spider known as “Maman”. Journalist LUCY VAN OLDENBARNEVELD will interview Indigenous artist and prestigious Sobey Award nominee, NICO WILLIAMS.

Following the interview, participants will go on a walking tour of independent galleries in the ByWard Market concluding with a reception and tour of the Ottawa Art Gallery. A brochure and map will be provided.

All proceeds will be donated to the Ottawa Mission’s meal programme that opens doors to a brighter future for people in need of compassion, dignity and hope.

This event is organized by a volunteer committee with the support of the National Gallery of Canada, the Ottawa Art Gallery and the ByWard Market District Authority, chaired by Mme. Sarah Jennings. Committee: Kathryn Lyons, Zoe McNeil, Zach Dayler, Tegan Schioler.

PROMENADE DES ARTS 2024

Trois formidables organisations d'Ottawa s'unissent pour présenter la Promenade des arts 2024, un événement en plein air qui conjuguera une conversation avec un artiste et des visites de galeries. L’initiative est une présentation du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada, de la Galerie d'art d'Ottawa et l’Autorité du district du marché By.

La Promenade des arts débutera dans l’amphithéâtre extérieur du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada, à côté de Maman, la monumentale araignée en bronze de l'artiste Louise Bourgeois. La journaliste LUCY VAN OLDENBARNEVELD interviewera l'artiste autochtone NICO WILLIAMS, prestigieux finaliste du Prix Sobey.

À la suite de l’entrevue, le groupe fera une visite à pied de galeries indépendantes dans le quartier du marché By. La Promenade des arts se terminera par une visite et une réception à la Galerie d'art d'Ottawa. Un dépliant et un plan seront fournis.

Tous les fonds seront versés au programme de repas de La Mission d’Ottawa, qui ouvre des portes vers un avenir meilleur pour les personnes ayant besoin de compassion, de dignité et d'espoir.
