About this Event
In honor of Black History Month, we will be paying homage to the legendary Josephine Baker, a groundbreaking burlesque dancer, entertainer, and activist who reshaped history through her art and courage. To celebrate her legacy and foster creative expression, we’re hosting a figure/life drawing session on February 20th from 6:30-9:30 PM at ShotClock Studios in Oakland, California.
This gathering is a welcoming space for Black artists of all levels to create, connect, and be inspired. During breaks we will be having some fun and and doing some trivia in honor of black history month.
Light refreshments will be provided, and ShotClock Studios is ADA-compliant. This is a freeform drawing session with no instruction, offering an opportunity to express yourself, vibe with fellow creatives, and enjoy the experience.
Please arrive 10 min earlier to grab a seat. We start on time
Supplies will be available, but feel free to bring your favorite tools—paints are welcome too!
We can’t wait to see you there!
