Arts, Culture & Creativity Month 2026 – San Diego Kick-Off
Join San Diego’s arts and culture community for the official San Diego launch of Arts, Culture & Creativity Month in California on April 2, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at the Chicano Park Museum & Cultural Center in Barrio Logan.
Hosted by San Diego ART Matters, California for the Arts, California Arts Advocates, Americans for the Arts, and Arts & Intersections / Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties, this special gathering will bring together artists, cultural leaders, policymakers, and community members to celebrate and elevate the role of the arts in our region.
The kickoff event will feature special guest Erin Harkey, CEO of Americans for the Arts, and Julie Baker, CEO of California for the Arts, along with regional arts leaders and community partners who are helping strengthen San Diego’s creative economy.
Artists, arts and culture professionals, community partners, and civic leaders will gather for a morning of conversation, networking, and celebration of San Diego’s creative economy — and the people and organizations that make our region a vibrant arts destination.
Arts, Culture & Creativity Month is a statewide initiative led by California for the Arts to raise awareness of the powerful impact that arts, culture, and creative industries have in communities across California. Throughout April, organizations across the state will host events, workshops, exhibitions, and advocacy efforts designed to connect communities and support the creative sector.
Following the program, guests will have the opportunity to preview an upcoming exhibition at the Chicano Park Museum & Cultural Center.
Participants will also learn about upcoming statewide events including the 4th Annual California Arts & Culture Summit in Sacramento (April 19–20, 2026) and Arts Advocacy Day at the State Capitol (April 21, 2026).
