Join us for a half-day workshop filled with guided discussion of community empowerment and the arts. This interactive Arts as Peacebuilding workshop will help you develop insights and skills to leverage the arts to facilitate community dialogue and healing in post-conflict environments.
Co-lead by Dr. Jeremy RInker (UNCG Peace and Conflict Studies) and Sejla Kalendar (ESL Teacher at the New Arrivals Institute) this hands-on event will explore how art can be used as a tool for promoting peace and understanding in our communities, as well as as a tool for trauma awareness and resilience. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just looking to try something new, this workshop is for everyone.
Learn to integrate the theories and practicies of peacebuilding as you create art adn imagine the role of collective expression in changing assumed knowledge about war and force into emotive expressions of peace.
