About this Event
“What is not constant can no longer be a friend.” – Raqs Media Collective
How do we look at uncertainty? As the monsoon shifts with climate change and the financial world struggles to predict the future, Raqs Media Collective invite us to think differently about change, connection, and time.
Join Monica Narula and Shuddhabrata Sengupta in conversation with Alice Sharp, Director of Invisible Dust, in the heart of London’s financial district, to explore the ideas, poetry, and philosophy behind their new exhibition Cloud Messengers.

Exhibition: Cloud Messengers
Cloud Messengers traces the invisible threads that bind natural forces to systems of capital and control in a time of climate crisis. Raqs Media Collective have collaborated with Invisible Dust to create this new installation drawing speculative philosophical connections between monsoon rains, floods, trade and financial markets and actuarial science assessing risk.
Curated by Jeanine Griffin & Alice Sharp of Invisible Dust, supported by a partnership with Futurecity and Frith Street Gallery

Image: Abhisarika Nayika: This is one of the eight heroines (Ashta-Nayika) from classical Indian literature. She is depicted as a woman who bravely ventures through a stormy night, overcoming obstacles like lightning and snakes, to meet her lover. The monsoon here represents the challenges she must face for love.
