Join us for an inspiring morning with Brazilian artist-researcher Ricardo Cabral, for a thought-provoking artist talk exploring a deceptively simple question: What can the performing arts do in the face of ecological collapse? - followed by the launch of A Green Life, Havering’s Creative Climate Manifesto – a community-shaped vision for how culture can drive environmental awareness and action.Artist Talk: Ricardo’s practice brings together waste pickers, biologists, mangrove forests, and communities in Rio de Janeiro to make work that refuses easy boundaries between art, science, and the living world. Drawing on years of fieldwork across performances, films, and workshops, this talk invites us to rethink what it means to make art that truly aligns with movements for planetary survival.
A Green Life launch:: Following the talk, we’ll celebrate the launch of A Green Life — Havering’s Creative Climate Manifesto. Developed by Amber Massie-Blomfield (Fern Culture) and beautifully designed by Havering-born artist Lucy Carruthers, the manifesto is shaped by voices gathered from workshops held across Havering.
If you’re working in arts and culture, care about climate activation through artistic practice, and want to be part of what comes next — this morning is for you.
