About this Event
Join artist Rebecca Bayer as she shares insight into her latest Richmond public art project, BALANCE. Learn about the creative process behind the work and how collaboration with Professor Venditti of River Dynamics Lab at SFU helped shape an artwork that connects art and ecology. Also joining us for the talk and tour is Biliana Velkova, City of Richmond Public Art Planner to share information on current public art programs in the City of Richmond.
‘BALANCE’ is a large-scale public artwork which references the delicate equilibrium of land and water. It covers approximately 300’ wide and 20’ high, along a portion of the new plaza facade at CF Richmond Centre - a short walk from Richmond City Hall, on the traditional and unceded territories of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language group in Richmond, BC.
The session ends with an on-site visit to BALANCE, located across the street from the gallery.
Session hosted by Kathy Tycholis, RAG Education & Public Programs Coordinator, and in partnership with City of Richmond Public Art Program.
Limited spaces, RSVP requested.
