ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Kit Wyatt (he/she) is a Seattle-based burlesque artist and movement guide whose practice moves fluidly across contexts while staying grounded in questions around the performance of authenticity, construction of identity, and explorations of physical strength. Kit has performed with Velocity's Bridge Project, Verlaine + McCann, Valtesse, and The Seattle Opera, but most often in nightlife contexts under the moniker ATM (a burlesque duo project with Hannah Simmons.) With a BFA in Dance Dramaturgy from the Ohio State University to put to use, and 20 years of ballet training to try to waste, Kit sets out to create works that seek pleasure, play, and precision.
Jo Cosme (she/her) is a Boricua multimedia artist from Borikén, Puerto Rico, now based in Seattle after being displaced by Hurricane María. Working across photography and interactive installations, her practice examines colonial power, memory, and the gap between Puerto Rico's tourist image and the lived realities of its people. She is currently developing Welcome to Paradise: ¡Viva Puerto Rico Libre!, an evolving body of work critiquing the constructed idea of paradise and the disaster-driven gentrification reshaping the archipelago.
Imani Sims is an alchemist and author from Seattle, WA. Wonder is Imani’s specialty and drawing inspiration from the cosmos to integrate art, ritual, and the Black aesthetic into experiences tailored for QTBIPOC communities and allies. With a background spanning over three decades in performance & literature, they've dedicated themselves to fostering spaces where imagination thrives. Their shelves overflow with books delving into Afrofuturist realms, and their tarot deck, The Deck of NONE, embodies their deep connection to the genre. Imani’s work is a world within a world.
