Free! All who identify as mothers are welcome Join us to make posters about climate, care, and peace. This is a joint art build: the Artist Mothers will bring the posters to Nuit Blanche peace walk, and Natalie Baird and Toby Gillies will use and share them as part of their Winnipeg Arts Council-funded WITH ART collaboration with the Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition. All who identify as mothers are welcome.
About Artist Moms 2.0
The original Artist Mothers’ group met for many years at MAWA. Through artistic creation, discussion and themed exhibitions, artist mothers mentored one another in a practice that centred on the lived experiences of home life.
Artist Moms 2.0 reconvenes with a twist, a common desire to explore our art practices through an activist lens and a goal to mother a world that extends from our own families outwards. Join us for evenings of community, critiques and crafts as we explore and plan ways to artistically engage with personal, local and global issues through our roles as mothers and artists.
