Remarque is excited to host six talented printmakers from across the country for a week this June! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 2, from 7-9 PM, when they will be giving artist talks for the greater Remarque community. Come see these talented printmakers, gain a glimpse into their creative processes, and learn about the projects they'll be pursuing during their time with us! The gathering will be casual, free, and open to the public, with light refreshments. Please join us in celebrating creativity and collaboration!Read more about the 2026 artists-in-residence below:
Lea Basile-Lazarus (@lblprint) will be joining us from Seattle, where she serves on the board of the West Seattle Art Tour and is an active member of the Women Painters of Washington, the California Society of Printmakers, Seattle Print Arts, and CoCA (Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle). A printmaker for more than 40 years, Lea's work reflects her responses to the world around her, engaging with themes of politics, social justice, community, and the environment.
Stina Hals (@stinahalsart) will be joining us from Boston, where she is a member of the Full Tilt Cooperative Printmaking Studio. In addition to art making, she has a 25+ year long career as a public health and community development professional, designing homelessness response systems in US cities. While at Remarque, she will be working on a project that she has developed with The Boston Printmakers — part of a larger exhibition about the history of American democracy.
Trevor Jackson (@trevor.p.jackson) will be joining us from Las Cruces. For over 20 years he has captured introspective compositions that reveal the stark beauty and intricate textures of natural terrains and desolate spaces. In 2025, he reinvented himself as a full-time artist after a 12-year career engineering optical instruments for NASA climate science satellites.
Eunkang Koh (@eunkangkohart) will be joining us from Reno, where she is a professor and the area head of printmaking at UNR. Koh sees within our contemporary society a new illusion created by a systemic world since the invention of the internet and social media. She works in various media - printmaking, book art, drawing, painting and installation to address social phenomena in our contemporary consumerist society.
Asenath Lizárraga (@asenathlizarraga) will be joining us from Olympia. They’re passionate about creating art that captures the beauty of Latin American culture, and that emphasizes the many points of cultural unity that exist across this vast continent that they have ancestral ties to. They screen print using a self taught multi-layer process, hand make their own screens, and build their own printing presses and exposure units.
Dana Zed (@thedanazed) will be joining us from Oakland, where she is the president of the California Society of Printmakers. In addition to her copper-plate etching, she has over 40 years' experience creating and exhibiting glass sculpture. She also paints, writes fiction, swims laps, bicycles cross country, and teaches.
