CPH queer theatre festival invite you to an artist gathering - a presentation of the Hot Meat artist residency which is hosting a broad spectrum of 24 recognized queer performing artist from all around the world. As a participant in this artist gathering, you will get a unique insight into what it means to be a queer artist around the world with different cultural backgrounds. Here you will be introduced to the Hot Meat Project. During the CPH Queer Theatre festival, the participants will be presented some challenges, on the basis of which they will have to create four new plays. These challenges will relate to Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride and EuroGames.
First, the playwrights will write four plays, of which a reading will be held on august 16th during our Salon at the Royal Danish Theater. Then the plays will be handed over to the directors so they can stage it with their selected actors.
The newly written staged queer plays will have their world premiere during Copenhagen2021 - WorldPride and EuroGames, and play in different pop up locations on august 19th and 20th, 2021.
