During this two-hour live painting demonstration, Bill Lane will create a watercolor painting depicting his favored urban subject matter while offering pointers and taking questions from the audience. Using his plein air techniques, Bill will dial up the dramatic afternoon light to make the buildings and street come alive. Learn how the artist thinks about design, enhances contrasts, and adds energy by placing pedestrians and cars to lead and direct the eye.Reserve a Seat:

About the Exhibition:
The Guild of Boston Artists is proud to present "United with the Beauty," an exhibition to welcome our four newly elected artist members, at our Newbury Street gallery from April 4 to May 2. The Guild's motto reads "Art Emulates Nature." Each artist member of the Guild upholds this guiding principle by working directly from life to capture the visual truth and beauty to be found all around us. By infusing their own sophisticated observations with rare artistry and painterly sensitivity, our four newest members are exemplars of Guild mastery. From Bill Lane's honest plein air watercolors to Margaret Carrier's richly composed still lives, from Tom Hughes's luminous landscapes to Donald Demers's meditative views, every painting on display in this show offers a visual pathway to reach the ineffable through form, color, and value, encouraging audiences to take in the spiritual nourishment that beauty can offer us all. We are thrilled to welcome these four unique artists into the Guild and look forward to witnessing how they each complement and enrich the century of fine art for which the Guild is known.
