WIS '26 takes place January 29th-30th online and onsite, mainly in the Beaumier Suites Conference Center in Raynor Library on the Marquette University campus.
Thursday in brief:
- 9am: Welcome table opens
- 9:30-11:30: Write-on-site and makerspace*
- 11:30-1pm: Lunch on your own
- 1:00-5:30pm: Concurrent flashtalks* and workshops
- 5:30: Reception
- 7pm: Online only makerspace
Friday in brief:
- 8:30am: Welcome table opens; breakfast is served
- 9:00-10:45: Plenary workshop with Jason Luther*
- 11am-12:15: Artifact Exchange*
- 12:30-1:45 Lunch and concluding remarks by Cydney Alexis and Hannah Rule*
- 2:00pm: Open WIS Steering Committee meeting*
*WIS '26 will use Zoom to make all starred (*) events available online in realtime. In addition, pre-recordings of WIS '26 flashtalks will be available asynchronously to all registered participants.
Early birds (i.e., Wednesday arrivals) will be welcome to join Marquette affiliates and local Milwaukee community members on campus for a series of 'zine-centered activities. Registered participants will receive additional information.
WIS 26 is sponsored by Marquette's Center for Teaching and Learning, FAME (Friends and Alumni of Marquette English), and the Haggerty Museum of Art as well as long-timer partners Raynor Library and Macmillan Learning.
