About this Event
Join The Breman for a special lecture celebrating the newest exhibition, Hidden History: Recounting the Shanghai Jewish Story featuring Arthur Rothstein.
Rothstein was born in New York City to Eastern European Jewish immigrants. His parents came to America after being forced from their homes by government-sanctioned, anti-Jewish pogroms. This family history contributed to Arthur's life-long interest in documenting, with sensitivity, the stories of migrants, refugees and the dispossessed. Throughout his life Arthur Rothstein used his camera to try to repair the world, in the Jewish tradition of Tikkun Olam, bringing attention to situations that needed to be remedied, taking action to promote social justice.
FREE (Registration is required).
A bagel recpetion is included.
This event is sponsored by Something Special Sundays presented by Marilyn Ginsberg Epstien and the Arthur Rothstein Legacy Project.
