$100pp - includes admission and guided tour of the New York Studio School on Eighth Street (between Fifth & Sixth Ave) PLUS a presentation about what to see at the current Whintey Biennial exhibition on-your-own.
Explore the origins of the famous Whitney Museum starting with its founder Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney herself! An artful socialite, she parlayed her Greenwich Village artist circle and 8th Street school into an important museum of the American art scene. This studio and exhibition space is a historical treasure with many remnants of Whitney's past. Enjoy a guided tour of the NY Studio School to see how Gertrude created this artistic space, which still stands today.
Now a highlight of NYC's Meatpacking District, Whitney's iconic museum is best known for its American art and controversial Biennial exhibits. There will be an special presentation about the current Biennial so you can be prepared when you visit on your own,
