It's an insider's look at the outdoor art on view, fashion showrooms, fabric and notion workshops and more that make this part of Manhattan a major destination.
This is more than just a general tour...after seeing the famous sculptures of a giant button and a garment worker celebrating the area's history, we will meet the owners, sales reps, craftspeople and more to see how the business of fashion involves a slew of professionals from the garment industry owners and managers, sales teams, skilled trade workers to everyone in between. Learn some history of immigrant workers to the heads of world-famous fashion labels. See the tools of the trade and all the fabrics, trimmings and notions needed to create designs. Enjoy touring a showroom where elegant gowns are custom-made and sold to retailers. There is even some time reserved for shopping at the hidden gems ready to give you the inside scoop on their product lines.
