Join The Social Butterfly Society for a truly special night as history takes flight. Artemis II, the next crewed mission set to orbit the Moon, is currently scheduled to launch on February 6th—and we’re gathering to watch this incredible moment together. We plan to view the launch from Kennedy Point Park. Because launches can draw crowds, arriving early is strongly encouraged. Our tentative plan is to arrive around 5:00 PM (to beat the crowds), enjoy a relaxed picnic together around 6:30 PM, and then settle in for the launch, which is currently scheduled for 9:45 PM.
Things to bring:
🦋Your own food & drinks
🦋Snacks
🦋Chairs
🦋Blankets (weather-dependent)
🦋Any games you want to play
You’re welcome to arrive later if needed—just keep in mind the later you arrive, the riskier it may be to find parking. We’ll be hanging out beforehand with games, conversation, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy each other’s company while we wait for launch.
The park has restrooms available and is regularly patrolled for safety.
👉👉As with all rocket launches, **timing and viewing locations are subject to change**, and delays or last-minute scrubs do happen. If plans shift, we’ll do our best to communicate updates and adjust accordingly.
This is a family-friendly event, and we hope you’ll join us for an unforgettable evening of community, stargazing, and witnessing history together. 🚀✨
