Join us at the Newmarket Public Library for a refreshing and creative exploration of minimalist art, inspired by the expressive elegance of Pablo Picasso and the witty, modern charm of Christoph Niemann, the celebrated illustrator known for his clever New Yorker covers and visual storytelling.
In this workshop, you’ll discover how powerful a few lines and colors can be when used with intention and creativity. You’ll experiment with minimalist drawing and illustration techniques to create artwork that’s simple, playful, and deeply expressive.
What to Expect:
- Learn about Picasso’s one-line drawings and his minimalist approach to form and emotion
- Explore Christoph Niemann’s visual storytelling techniques using everyday objects and simple shapes
- Step-by-step instruction using pencils and watercolors on paper
- Creative exercises in minimal design, negative space, and personal expression
- No experience needed—this class is about observation, simplicity, and fun!
👩🎨 Led by professional artist Nina Savchenko, this session is part of our "Paint Like Famous Artists" workshop series—designed to introduce you to iconic art styles in a welcoming, hands-on environment.
