First Saturdays of the month are for art fun! Stop by for gallery activities, special presentations, and creative exploration designed for all ages. We’re celebrating the wonders of spring with activities that highlight works of art and natural beauty in the Museum’s galleries and gardens. We are happy to welcome our VIP Visitors*, River City Mixed Chorus, whose mission is to create exceptional musical experiences that support diversity, inspire change, and empower communities.
A look at the fun this month from 11 am–2 pm:
• Begin at our Welcome Table in the Hawks Pavilion! Pick up a program and map for the day. We can let you know about membership opportunities, upcoming programs, our Bloomberg Connects digital guide, and Art Card self-guide resources. We also can help with any accessibility needs.
• Out & About Storytime with Omaha Public Library, 11 am.
• Performances by River’s Edge, a smaller ensemble of the River City Mixed Chorus.
• Watercolor sketching in the Discovery Garden.
• Check out our Art Cart station, with opportunities to touch hands-on materials and talk about art with our friendly Gallery Volunteers.
• The Founder’s Room is designated as a quiet space for this event.
• Due to the generous support of Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program, Through the Lens: American Photographs from the Carter Collection, is free to all from 4-8 pm today; always free to Joslyn members.
• Don’t forget to check out more great spaces—The Cafe offers food and drink for sale. The Shop has beautiful art items for all ages and interests. If you are part of an intergenerational group, be sure to visit Art Works: A Place for Curiosity, an interactive space with nine different art activity stations (children must be accompanied by adults).
*VIP Visitors is a special invitation program for community groups to join in the fun at our monthly events, Art-tastic Saturdays and Nights at The Joslyn.
