Enjoy a beautiful recital of vocal music by English and American composers at 3 p.m. Saturday Oct. 11 at 7570 N. Thornydale Road Tucson.Featured will be Welsh baritone Jeremy Huw Williams and University of Arizona Associate Professor of Practice in Piano Daniel Linder.
Their program will include George Butterworth’s Six Songs from a Shropshire Lad a cycle which reflects on the lives of British soldiers who died in the service of Queen Victoria paired with Pines’ Last Poems; a new cycle by Tucson-based composer Daniel Asia which confronts impending mortality the ambiguity of Spring and death and memories of the Vietnam War.
Williams and Linder will also perform a selection of Welsh folk song arrangements by Benjamin Britten a lively selection of Cabaret Songs by William Bolcom and a world premiere setting of Psalm 13 by Joshua Nichols. Guitarist Pablo Gonzalez will also perform with Jeremy a world premiere by Zachary James Bramble.
