About Kindred:
This is a space for kindred spirits—people who crave more than small talk. We're here to build something real: community rooted in honesty, curiosity, support and care. We are a community for young adults in their 20s and 30s who identify as LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, creative and allies.

Kindred is a mission-driven business dedicated to creating safe and meaningful spaces for connection and creativity. We cultivate community through in-person events and programs that:

• Encourage deep conversations
• Inspire storytelling, art and media
• Facilitate practices for healing and empowerment

Looking for fresh inspiration and a chance to create alongside like-minded people? Join us for a guided, generative afternoon of art exploration and hands-on creativity. We’ll dive into a playful scavenger hunt filled with curated prompts as we visit working studios during the annual Silicon Valley Open Studios.

Featuring a spectacular range of artwork from hundreds of local artists, SVOS attracts appreciative art lovers from all over who enjoy visiting the artists in their creative studios and galleries. The three-weekend art event always happens the first three weekends in May.”

Compared to our Art Crawl and Conversation, this experience is a bit more structured and interactive. We’ll meet at Detati Art Studio (265 Caspian Dr, Sunnyvale, Site 396), where we’ll explore multiple studios together. For the scavenger hunt, you’ll team up in small groups and receive prompts to guide your discoveries—finding pieces that resonate or spark curiosity.

Afterward, we’ll gather to share what we found and reflect on the experience as a group.

Then, it’s time to create. Inspired by what you’ve seen, heard, or felt, you’re invited to make your own piece—draw, paint, write, or express yourself in any medium you enjoy. We’ll head to a nearby park overlooking the baylands to relax, connect with nature, and bring your ideas to life.

This event is offered on a sliding scale of $15–$25, so you can choose the amount that feels right for you.

What will be provided:

• Blank paper
• Pens
• Pencils

Feel free to bring your favorite supplies. A picnic blanket or chair is recommended for comfort—some extras may be available.

Parking: There is free parking at the Detati building.
