Art Day at the Museum: Mosaic & Woodburning WorkshopsJoin us for a creative workshop day at the Roseau County Museum with husband-and-wife artists Kathy and Les Sanders of Sanders Studio. Two hands-on workshops will be offered simultaneously. Choose the one that interests you most and spend the midday learning a new skill while creating something of your own.
The Art of Micromosaics – with Kathy Sanders
Micromosaics are intricate artworks made from thousands of tiny pieces of glass enamel carefully arranged to create detailed images. Kathy will guide participants through color selection, layout, and technique as you design a floral micromosaic pendant. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, ages 15 and up. Participants will leave with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.
Creative Pyrography (Woodburning) – with Les Sanders
Discover the art of woodburning in this hands-on pyrography class. Les will introduce the basics, including tool safety, burning techniques, shading, and design. Participants will practice on sample wood pieces before creating their own finished project to take home. No experience is necessary, ages 10 and up.
