Have you ever wanted to create a specific shade of paint that you just can’t find in a store? Or have you always wondered how those beautiful pigments came to be? Join us for Mica Magic, a deep dive on how to create custom watercolor paints using mica powders, mineral powders, and a binder like gum arabic and honey. Local artist Jenn Young will guide students through creating 2-4 custom watercolor paints, with time after mixing to test the paints out with a small watercolor painting! Students will take their custom paints home at the end of class.
Jenn Young is a talented artist based in Southern Idaho who, by her own description, loves to make things! While she generally focuses on watercolor and woodworking, you may find her dabbling in a wide variety of art forms. Jenn has taught classes in the Rupert area for several years, and we are thrilled to bring her talents to the Magic Valley for you to enjoy.
All supplies included. No experience necessary – beginners welcome!
