ART BOX LIVE! brings ART BOX to you IRL! Work alongside artists featured in the Makuru ART BOX.
Join acclaimed artist Dan Bourke to create your own strange sculpture using bread dough. Get up to your elbows in flour! Imagine and sculpt your own creature! And then take it home to see how it changes over time.
Audience: For 8 -12 year olds
About the artist: Dan Bourke is a studio artist, curator and publisher artist based in Boorloo (Perth, Western Australia). His work explores themes such as the nature, ethics, the business of being an artist, and systems of taste and value. He has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions curated and organised projects, and undertaken residencies locally and nationally. His most recent projects have appeared at Fremantle Arts Centre (WA), YIRI ARTS (Taiwan), Adult Contemporary (WA), Pet Projects (WA), and Campbelltown Arts Centre (NSW).
He runs Benchpress, a small Risograph-based printing press, and Adult Contemporary, an artist-run initiative and bookshop. He was previously involved in the formation of other artist-run initiatives: Poetry Club (2010), Galleria (2011–12), and Pet Projects (2016–17).
