About the Instructor: Artist and crafts person Barbara Townsend is a member of the Chippewas of Nawash from Ontario, Canada.
Her artwork is primarily self taught, portraying a blend of traditional stories using modern images and materials. Barbara’s unique craft skills are honed from many years of creating beaded, cloth and leather regalia for Native pow wows and ceremonies.
Recently having moved to Vancouver Island, she is excited to learn from and share with other local artists and students.
