WHAT IS A POETRY SLAM?
A poetry slam is a live event where poets perform original work within a three-minute limit. A randomly chosen group of judges from the audience scores the performances, and these scores determine which poets advance. There are two preliminary rounds, and the five highest scorers will progress to a final slam round.
No props. No costumes. Just voice, body, and words (notebook or device welcome).
This event follows community agreements that prioritize safety and respect:
• No racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or ableist language
• Content warnings are encouraged
• Audience participation is welcomed, but heckling is not
