Seattle-based artist and perfumer Donna Lipowitz brings her internationally recognized Scent Lending Library home for its first West Coast installation. After a successful run in New York City during the spring and summer of 2025, the Scent Lending Library arrives in Seattle for a new chapter. Created by artist and perfumer Donna Lipowitz, Scent Lending Library applies the idea of a library — a shared, circulating collection — to the world of scent. Visitors are invited to browse, borrow, and compare one hundred different smells, experiencing scent as art within a visual art gallery setting.
The collection is eclectic and evolving, including single aroma molecules, vintage perfumes, and the artist’s own concept scents. Members can join the Library and check out bottles to take home, opening a new way to learn, imagine, and remember through smell.
The interactive exhibition opens Saturday, November 8, 2025, with a reception from 5-9pm.
