About this Event
ART AND IMAGINATION
Art and Imagination is a conversation-based program designed for people living with dementia at home and in aged care settings. Based on the award-winning Art and Dementia program by the National Gallery of Australia, Art and Imagination encourages a meaningful engagement with art, and supports people with dementia to interpret their experiences, express themselves and engage in conversation through focused group discussions. Hosted by our trained artist-educator and volunteers in a supportive atmosphere, each session lasts about an hour and features three to four artworks. Participants receive printed copies of the discussed works to take home.
Program sessions are offered by request for aged care services and community groups; and monthly for individuals living at home and their carers.
For individuals and their carers - sessions run on the last Wednesday of each month, 11am-12pm.
Spaces are limited, bookings essential.
