The 2026 Art·Struck Festival will bring another round of thrilling arts experiences to Downtown Johnson City! Collect artworks from over 50 art vendors, enjoy this year’s exciting festival highlights, participate in art activities for all ages, and MORE!
Bring the whole family and enjoy the Giant Puppet March, stiltwalker and living statue, aerial acrobats, Cultural Movement Show, Street Art Throwdown featuring a live painting session with four local artists, silk screen printing, large-scale printmaking with help from a road roller, chalk art competition, and a variety of other festival demos and performances!
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Chalk Art Competition
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
(Winners announced at 4:00 PM)
Artists will compete in a chalk art competition in 4′ x 4′ spaces during the festival. This year’s competition theme is “Flora”. Stop by the Founders Park Amphitheater to see their beautiful creations come together on the sidewalk!
Cultural Movement Show
Performances: 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM
This diverse series of dance performances will feature Meraki Movement Studio’s adult dance troupes and solos along with performances by other dance groups. Stay tuned for details!
Road Roller Printmaking
11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Large-scale printmaking? Yes, please! A road roller will make oversized prints on paper and other items using an original design from a hand-carved block by artist Katie Ries. Don’t forget to purchase your limited edition print!
Giant Puppet March
March Times: 12:00 PM and 1:15 PM
The Cattywampus Puppet Council and the Knox Honkers & Bangers brass band will get things moving with two giant puppet marches and roving throughout the day. Grab a drum or a puppet and join in the fun!
Street Art Throwdown
12:00 - 4:00 PM
Four local artists will create graffiti-style art on site during the festival. Their large-scale works will be temporarily displayed in downtown Johnson City after they are complete!
East Coast Giants Stiltwalker
12:00 – 4:00 PM
You may feel a bit small when one of the East Coast Giants stiltwalkers passes by! He’ll be towering over the festival most of the day, so make sure you catch a glimpse of this larger than life performer.
Twirling Twins
Performances: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Remember to look up every now and then! Two talented aerial acrobats will dazzle the crowd with their mid-air performances.
Crystal Cat Design Co. Screen Printing
ALL DAY
Crystal Cat Design Co. will offer a free make-and-take silk screen printing activity for all ages! Original designs will be printed onto fabric and dried quickly on site.
Community Chalk Art Mandala
ALL DAY
Help us fill a giant mandala outline with color in the Founders Park Amphitheater! Amazing Street Painting will create the outline and assist with the coloring process. All ages are welcome to participate.
Granite Goddess, Living Statue
ALL DAY
She’s as still as a statue, but…wait for it…she springs to life! The Granite Goddess will bring an air of enchantment to the Pavilion at Founders Park.
