Alejandro Mejía, AMC is a Mexican-born, Emmy-nominated and award winning cinematographer who recently shot the feature film In The Summers, which won the jury award in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

Previously, Mejía lensed director Rodrigo Reyes, Sansón and Me, which screened at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and Camerimage Film Festival. His work received a nomination for the prestigious Energa Camerimage Golden Frog.

In 2021, his feature Son of Monarchs screened at Sundance and won the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize. In addition, Camerimage Film Festival recognized Mejía’s work in the Cinematographers' Debuts Competition.

In the year 2020, his work on 499 won the prestigious Golden Frog award at the Energa Camerimage Film Festival for Feature Documentary Films Competition. Mejía’s work on the film also won Best Cinematography in a Documentary Film selection at Tribeca Film Festival.

For his work on 306 Hollywood, Mejía earned critical acclaim, film festival selections and a Best Cinematography nomination at the 2018 Emmy Awards and the Critic Choice Awards.

In 2015, Mejía shot a short film called Stay Awake which screened at Berlinale and won the Best Narrative Short Grand Jury Prize at the Slamdance Film Festival. Mejía also served as the cinematographer on the feature film version of the short, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the 2022 Cinema Vision 14plus Award and the Special Mention in Generation section.

In addition, Mejía won the Panavision Award for the short film Marta Rosa at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2015 and participated in the 2016 Berlinale Talents, the annual summit and networking platform of the Berlin International Film Festival.

Since 2018, Mejía has been a proud member of the Mexican Society of Cinematographers (AMC). He is based in Brooklyn, NY, and is represented by Innovative Artists and 9AM Cinematography.
