Spoken word & Poetry in Marathi
Bahinabai Chaudhary’s poems represent the lives of women agricultural workers and their joys and sorrows. Artistes from Parivartan, a cultural institution based in Jalgaon, have come together to share the beauty of her poems as part of a new musical programme. A highlight of the evening, which combines folk traditions and modern music, is that the Khandeshi dialect is maintained from the beginning till the end.
Marathi writer Acharya Atre called Chaudhary’s poems ‘99.99% Pure Gold’. Arre Sansaar Sansaar brings out the essence of Chaudhary’s oeuvre—rooted in agriculture as well as Indian philosophy.
