Armed Church Security Certificate Course

Course Description

This 1.5-day course provides house of worship security personnel with basic defensive handgun skills. Participants who successfully complete all course requirements will receive a certificate of completion, and Tennessee Concealed Carry Permit (CCP) proof of training.

1. Legal requirements for arming house of worship security volunteers and staff

2. Use of deadly force guidelines for private citizens

3. Security planning for houses of worship

4. Equipment considerations

5. Handgun safety

6. Handgun marksmanship

7. Weapons manipulation

8. Live-fire exercises

9. Handgun qualification

Course Requirements

1. Attend the entire course

2. Demonstrate proficiency in handgun safety, marksmanship, and manipulation/handling

3. Score a minimum of 80% of the course written exam

4. Score a minimum of 80% on the handgun qualification course

2. 200 rounds of ammunition
