Join us this year on Sunday, April 26 at Cove Island Park for the 20th Annual Walk for Independence to benefit ARI of Connecticut, Inc. and programs supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. ARI provides services to nearly 100 individuals with developmental disabilities. This year we will be honoring Liz Sue Bagel for their continued support of ARI and the Walk. Liz Sue has provided bagels for each of the Walks and are committed to providing bagels again this year! Enjoy a bagel and much more while supporting ARI. The 20th Annual Walk for Independence will begin at 10:00 AM with fun filled activities including clowns, a temporary tattoo tent, refreshments, and much more. Opening ceremonies will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a warm up exercise/dance. The Walk will kick off at 11:15 AM. There is no registration fee; however, attendees donating at least $50 will receive an event T-shirt. Additional shirts will be given for each additional donation of $25. Enjoy a stroll along Long Island Sound while supporting ARI and their 70+ year history. Not sure if you can walk the entire route, no problem! Listen to the music under the Cove Island Pavilion while enjoying coffee, bagels and other refreshments.
