*** NEW *** ONE-OFF GUIDED PRACTICAFollowing the interest shown about the need to practise, we’ve decided to trial a Guided Practica in our local area of Gloucester, especially to support regular classes and the many workshops.
It’s NOT suitable for complete beginners, but ideal for anyone at any stage in their tango, who wants to work on or improve some aspect of their dance.
No partner or balance needed, but to guarantee a partner to practise with, you need to bring one along.
Any gender, any role, we will work with you individually, or in partners.

We’ve known about this hall and been on their books for a few years, and this is the first opportunity we’ve had to use it.
WHAT IS A GUIDED PRACTICA
These are quite rare. It’s where there is supportive coaching available to work on YOUR shopping list of needs or wishes to develop or improve your Tango.
It's overseen by experienced facilitators and coaches who help identify causes, not just trying to resolve an isolated symptom.
The music is continuously in the background with various orchestras, with the occasional Vals and Milonga, so there’s no formality or the need to complete a ‘tanda’, that’s a different set-up.
Your shopping list might include:
- that elusive move you’ve learnt, but just doesn’t feel right
- tidying up your repertoire
- taking that leap to improve
- you’ve reached a ‘plateau’ and feel your dance has become samey, repetitive, even boring
- balance, axis, core strength, elements of technique, embrace
- understanding choice points to vary your routine
- breaking out of set routines to create more improvisation
- improving your relationship with the music
- improving the “dance conversation” between partners
- followers – how heavy are you, responsiveness, back ache, anticipation
- leaders – are you too robust, too vague, too quick, do you dance ‘with’ her or ‘at’ her
- giving yourself time to do regular, repetition practice
The scope is endless – bit like Tango itself!
To ensure there's enough space for everyone, it would be useful to have an idea of numbers, so please let us know if you plan to come.
