About this Event
Taste and compare 5 wines from Chile and 5 wines from Argentina to see who comes out on top! We will be joined by Carol from Martin & Co. and John from Wine Trends for this event. Charcuterie trays with crackers, cheese, grapes and nuts will be available throughout the tasting.
Did you know: The vine growing season for Argentina and Chile runs October to April, which is inverted compared to the Northern Hemisphere. Harvest typically takes place between February and April. Argentina and Chile share the Andes Mountains which forms the majority of the border between the two countries. Both countries have cooler climates in the southernmost regions.
Chile's grape growing region is a narrow long strip running about 110 miles in width, but over 2,600 miles long.
Argentina's grape growing regions' climates are greatly effected by whether they are located in the foothills of the Andes, the Entre Cordilleras (between the mountain ranges), or the Costa (coastal).
You will learn how these climate and environmental factors affect the wines from each region, and how they each differ from one another. Stay tuned for our full list of wines to be poured!
