About this Event
Some evenings are meant to be slow. No rushing, no scrolling — just a glass of something good, a warm piadina in your hands, and one of the greatest films ever made playing on the screen in front of you.
Join us for a slow cinema night built around Federico Fellini's timeless masterpiece, La Dolce Vita.
About the Film
Released in 1960, La Dolce Vita — "the sweet life" — follows Marcello Rubini, a charismatic journalist navigating the glittering, restless world of Rome's elite. Over the course of one unforgettable week, he chases celebrities, falls in and out of love, and searches for meaning beneath the surface of a life that looks perfect from the outside.
Fellini's film is at once a love letter to Rome and a meditation on beauty, desire, emptiness, and the fleeting moments that make us feel alive. Its iconic scenes — including the legendary Trevi Fountain sequence with Anita Ekberg — have become some of the most recognizable images in cinema history.
The film gave the world a new word: paparazzi. One of the minor characters, a relentless photographer named Paparazzo, became the origin of the term we still use today.
Federico Fellini — A Legacy
Federico Fellini is widely considered one of the greatest directors in the history of cinema. Over his career, he received five Academy Awards — four for Best Foreign Language Film (including for La Strada and Amarcord) and an honorary Oscar in 1993 in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to filmmaking. La Dolce Vita won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, cementing Fellini's place among the immortals of world cinema.
What's Included
A warm, freshly made piadina is included with your ticket — because good cinema deserves good food. Piadina is a traditional Italian flatbread from Romagna, soft and golden, filled simply and made with care. Think of it as your edible invitation to slow down.
Date: 04/18
Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: 60 Richmond Street East
Included: One piadina per guest
Doors open at 6:00 PM. Settle in, pick up your piadina, and let the evening unfold at its own pace. The film begins shortly after. This is not a movie night. This is a reminder that slowing down is a radical act — and that la dolce vita is not just a film title. It is a way of being.
See you there!
