'ARE FRIENDS ELECTRIC?' is a Synthpop, Futurepop, and Darkwave club night. In the spirit of early Synthpop, with its sense of an open and positive future, we aim to build a space for dance, conversation, and art that is open and inclusive.
The club is hosted by Isaac and Stuart White (with contributions from other DJs). Isaac is living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and we celebrate diversity, foregrounding the full participation of people living with additional needs.
We will play classic hits, overlooked gems, and tracks that came out yesterday.
If you want to dance in Joy Division’s atmosphere, open your heart with The Human League, celebrate defiance with VNV Nation, and feel love with Donna Summer, this is a night for you.
In the words of Urban Heat’s ‘A Simple Love Song’: ‘If you’re dancing at the end of the world, is the world even really ending? Or is it just the beginning?’
